DCA Noise Working Group Meeting Summaries
FAA presented on new GPS southflow arrivals procedure and declared pursuing Noise Abatement Departure Procedure (NADP-1) is not viable for DCA.

The Maryland/Arlington counties aviation consultant presented alternatives considered to mitigate noise from aircraft departing to the north. Two recommendations to ameliorate this noise were approved by the group. The FAA will study.

The working group approved Recommendation #22, which would provide noise mitigation for communities along the entire south flow approach corridor while enabling the use of a new RNAV GPS approach procedure that offers benefits to air traffic controllers and the airlines. The FAA will now consider.
