October 2021 DCA Noise Meeting Summary
Meeting Highlights
MWAA Update: Mongomery County Representative Changes — For Montgomery County we welcome Pete Fosselman as an alternate to Ken Hartman. • Also for Montgomery County we have some shifting of roles as Janelle Wright and Bill Noonan move from alternate to primary members, and Susan Shipp and Paul Janes move to alternates
Over the next few weeks... the passenger traffic trends are indicating that DCA flights could be back to about 90 percent of their pre-pandemic levels... as the holidays approach.
We’re now at around 70 percent of pre-pandemic levels... and are expecting the usual holiday uptick in air travel. You’ll recall that at the height of the pandemic... around last March and April... we were only at about 10 percent of normal passenger levels. So we’ve made great improvement.
FAA Update from Matt Fisher: Regarding Rec. 22, we met this afternoon and reviewed the proposal and made some slight adjustments to the DARIC intersection. We coded airspeed on the arrival and need more info from the technical staff. It’s an improvement over what we do today. We have commitments for the RNP and other approaches in south configuration that can be updated. Remember some carriers don’t have the RNP. FRDMM and TRUPS STAR’s, we are keeping the turn at waypoint FERGI. We are working on dates in 2023 for chart projects.
