It will come as no surprise to Washingtonians that the dark blue gash close to Reagan National Airport means people nearby are soaking up 90 decibels or more. But it’s also interesting to see how the pocket of noise stretches from Arlington to Alexandria with decibel levels that DOT says are roughly comparable to a vacuum cleaner.
